Seaweed
Chorus Seaweed
Chorus Seaweed is hand harvested in the cold, pristine waters of Northern Vancouver Island by a First Nation band with respectful concern for the environment. The seaweed species is called Macrocystis or Giant Kelp and is renowned for its rejuvenating properties for both the skin and body.
Composition
Giant Kelp is the fastest growing plant in the ocean with a growth rate up to 2 ft. per day and a total length up to 100 feet. It absorbs nutrients from the ocean water with astonishing efficiency making it vital that the water in which it grows is entirely unpolluted. Chorus Seaweed is so pure that it has received organic certification.
Giant Kelp is particularly rich in potassium and iodine which are essential for the health of both the skin and body. In addition it contains over 70 micro-nutrients including iron, zinc, copper, cobalt, manganese and boron that also aid in skin rejuvenation and detoxification; vitamins including B, C and E which help to protect the skin from environmental damage; and a variety of enzymes and proteins.
This wonderful therapetic seaweed contains the nutrients to help combat specific signs of ageing as well promote cell regeneration. With continued use Chorus Seaweed benefits the skin by enriching it with nutrients, promoting moisture balance, reducing wrinkles, promoting a natural skin radiance and removing accumulated toxins.
A special liquid extract of the Giant Kelp is used in nearly all Chorus products. Since the seaweed is not dried out during this process all of its natural properties are maintained. The kelp is not chemically altered in any way. Many other kelp/seaweed active ingredients that are used in topical products are inferior in quality due to the fact that they are dehydrated under high temperatures which can denature the kelp and diminish it's beneficial qualities.
